Dorothy Ann (nee O'Brien) beloved wife of 60 years to John Hackett, loving mother of Elizabeth (Michael) Woodruff, Mary Ann (James) Bertrams, Margaret (Donald) Perkins and Ken Hackett, dear grandmother of Helen Cole, Sarah and Claire Woodruff, Lauren, Matthew and Jonathan Bertrams and Kyle Hackett, she was preceded in death by her parents; Maude and Ray O'Brien, her brother David McBeath and beloved aunt Maybelle Barker.
She passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 surrounded by her family at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.
Dorothy was a loyal friend to all, never knew a stranger, she was a lover of animals, and was a dedicated nurse, teacher and diabetic educator for over 55 years. Dorothy has left a footprint on all of our Hearts and she will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday July 23, 2016 at 11:00am at Friendship Methodist Church,1025 Springfield Pike, Wyoming, OH 45215, reception following. (Parking available at the church, tennis courts across from church and on street).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SPCA of Cincinnati, 11900 Conrey Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249; Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, 4918 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242; American Diabetes Association, 4555 Lake Forest Drive, Suite 396, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.
