Alexander Joseph Roberto Jr.

Alexander Joseph Roberto Jr, born January 1, 1930, in Cincinnati, entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2026. Alex, known and loved for his steadfast devotion to family and community, leaves behind a profound legacy that will be cherished for generations to come.

Alex’s journey began in Cincinnati, where he would grow to become a pillar of strength, compassion, and guidance for his loved ones. He pursued his education at Quarter Tech School, laying the foundation for a life marked by diligence and integrity. Professionally, Alex spent forty-four years as a machinist with FH Lawson Co, where he dedicated countless hours as President of the local IAM Union leadership team, followed by 23 years at LSI Industries.

Answering the call to serve his country, Alex proudly served as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Trieste, Italy for two years. He achieved the rank of Corporal in Company M of the 351st Infantry, where he was a heavy weapons infantryman.

Outside of his professional and military achievements, Alex was a man of many interests. He was passionate about golf and enjoyed coaching baseball and basketball, sharing not only his love of the game but also the values of teamwork and perseverance. A member of the Green and Gold Club at Holy Family Church, Alex contributed to the vibrancy of his parish community. His commitment to service extended further as a member of VFW Post 1492. 

Among Alex's proudest accomplishments were his beloved wife and family. The cornerstone of his life was the partnership he shared with his late wife for 62 years, Clara Roberto, whose memory he held dearly. Together they built a strong and loving family. Alex was the proud father of Pam (Skip) Boertlein, Kathy (Bob) Mitts, Mark (Anne) Roberto, Steve Roberto, and Angie (Keith) Phillips. He is remembered lovingly by his grandchildren: Amy, Chip (Mindy), Krista (Brandon), Kyle, Kevin (Kaley), Eric (Stephanie), Caroline (Bryan), Holly (Eric), Stephanie, Nick (Holly), Katie (Luke), Cody, Luke, and Dillon (Katia), all of whom brought great joy and pride to his life. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Aiden, Max, Ava, Vincent, Brody, Braelynn, Briar, Briggs, Lilly, Oscar, Chuck, Lucy, Camryn, Kennedy, Brody, Leo, Avery, Kam, Kruz, Karter, and Kallie.

Alex is reunited in peace with his cherished wife, Clara; their son David Roberto; his sisters Angela Samad, Cecilia Newberry, and Rosemary Margeson; his brother Joseph Roberto; and his parents Alexander and Leona Roberto. Their loving memories are carried forward in the hearts of those who remain.

Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church (Gathering Space), located at 4551 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238. Following the visitation, a Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church.
