Alice M. Roch, affectionately known as Alice, passed away on July 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and spirited determination that touched every life she encountered. Born on August 26, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alice’s journey was one marked by unwavering commitment to faith, family, and friendship—a journey reflected in every chapter of her remarkable story.
Alice’s roots ran deep in her beloved hometown of Cincinnati. After graduating with the Seton Class of 1965, she embarked on a rewarding career at Cincinnati Bell, for 31 years, Alice dedicated herself to her work, rising to the position of Senior Sales Representative. Known for her diligence and professionalism, she formed lasting bonds with her colleagues, who admired her tenacity and the warmth she brought into the workplace.
Perhaps what defined Alice most was her strong will and outspoken nature—traits that were always tempered by her steadfast dedication to those she loved. Her life was a testament to the power of family. Alice shared a beautiful marriage for 58 years with her husband, John "Jack" Roch, whose partnership was built on respect, joy, and mutual support.
Her daughters, Meg Rosen and Karen Wells, along with sons-in-law Jim Rosen and Dave Wells, carry forward Alice’s commitment to love and laughter. Alice’s grandchildren—Nickolas, Jacob, and Bradley—were among her proudest accomplishments. She rejoiced in every gathering and took immense pride in each new memory created, whether through small everyday moments or milestone celebrations. For Alice, there was no greater joy than spending precious time with her grandchildren, their presence a constant reminder of her enduring legacy.
Alice’s circle of family extended to her sisters, Mary Ann James, Sharon McRoberts, and Ellen Scott, and her brothers, Larry and Jim Doherty. The bonds of siblinghood shaped Alice’s outlook and added vibrancy to many family gatherings. These relationships anchored her, forming a bedrock of support and affection.
While Alice’s journey was certainly illuminated by her cherished relationships, she was also a woman of deep faith. For over 50 years, she was a dedicated member of St. Dominic Church, finding strength, purpose, and community within its walls. Her devotion to faith shaped the way she lived her life—always with compassion, generosity, and a readiness to serve others.
Alice knew how to delight in life’s joys, finding pleasure in simple pastimes. She loved trying her luck at slot machines at the casino, the excitement of playing bingo, indulging her passion for shopping, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. These moments provided her with comfort and adventure, reminding those close to her that joy resides in the small pleasures as much as the grand occasions. She also enjoyed going on Bus Trips with Brose Tours.
Her parents, James and Lucy Doherty, and her brother John Doherty, preceded her in death. Their memories continued to inspire and guide Alice throughout her own life.
All who knew Alice will remember her as strong-willed and outspoken, always dedicated to her faith and to each member of her family. She was a woman who spoke her mind, stood on her convictions, and poured her heart into every role she played—daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
