Bertha Marie Greco, affectionetly known as "Byrd", cherished wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Born on January 6, 1959, Byrd's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, community, and the animals she so lovingly cared for.
Byrd served with distinction as the Cafeteria Manager for the 6th District of Covington, Kentucky Schools, where her commitment to nurturing and support was evident in every meal served and every interaction shared. Her strong work ethic and warm spirit endeared her to colleagues and many in the community alike.
Her personality was defined by her profound love for people and animals. She found joy and purpose in caring for her husband, John Greco, whom she lovingly supported for 29 years, as well as their treasured dogs, cats, and squirrels named Rocky and Minnie. Her hobbies and interests reflected a gentle and giving nature, always putting the needs of her loved ones and creatures around her first.
Byrd took immense pride in her role as a mother to Tabitha (Kevin) Sweet and Jessica (Modesto) Oliveros-Zepeda. Her proudest accomplishments were her daughter Tabitha and her grandchildren Austen, James, Elizabeth, Matthew, and Addison, in whom she saw the continuation of her love and legacy.
She is survived by her husband John Greco, her daughters Tabitha and Jessica, and her grandchildren. She was also the parent of James Burton and Chris Burton. She was a cherished sister to Gary Fanning, Sharon Brooks, and Loma Brooks, and a loving aunt to Linda, Mary, Butch (Rita), Tina (Joe), Eddie, David, Samantha, and Sabrina. Bertha was the daughter of Bertha and Allen Brooks, and sister to Linda Gravley and Terry Fanning, who preceded her in death. She was also the daughter-in-law of John Greco.
Those who remember Byrd recall her as a steadfast presence—her family’s constant source of comfort and strength. The memory of her “always being there” is a testament to the enduring impact of her love and kindness.
A visitation in honor of Byrd Greco will be held on April 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238.
