Charles Louis Harpring, affectionately known as Charlie, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on October 4, 1929, in Covington, Kentucky, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and generous spirit that touched all those fortunate enough to know him.

Charlie dedicated over 40 years of his life to Reliance Medical, where his commitment and hard work were a testament to his character. A proud U.S. Army Veteran, he served his country during the Korean War, embodying the values of bravery and duty. After returning home, he embraced family life and became an active member of the community, most notably as a cherished member of Our Lady of Victory Church since 1964 and a long time member of the Cheviot Fireman's Association.

Family was the cornerstone of Charlie's existence. He was a father to Steven Harpring, Deborah Sadelfeld and the late Tom Harpring, sharing a bond that will be remembered fondly. He took immense pride in his role as a grandpa to Alan (Ashley) Eccard, Christopher (Courtney) Eccard, and Tyler (Danielle) Sadelfeld, who brought endless joy to his golden years. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren, Christian, Connor, and Charlie, who were the lights of his life. Charlie was also a loving brother to Donald Harpring, and a faithful companion to Ruth Jansen.

Everyone who met Charlie knew him as a kind-hearted, caring person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. A man with an infectious smile, he made friends wherever he went. His hobbies were numerous; he attended every sporting and school event for his children and grandchildren, cheering them on with enthusiasm. He had a lifelong passion for bowling, which he enjoyed for over 82 years, first as a pin setter in his younger days and later as a dedicated player.

His favorite memories included cherished summer vacations and simple stay-cations with family, which created bonds that will remain unbroken. One of his fondest memories was participating in the Honor Flight to Washington D.C., where he saw the memorials dedicated to those who served.

Charlie leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and generosity that will forever resonate in the hearts of those he cherished. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 52 years, Pat Harpring (nee Grant). He was also preceded by his siblings: Charlotte Miller, Robert Harpring, Dorothy Lenahan, James Harpring, and Ruth Fathman.

A visitation will be held on February 13, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home in Delhi, Cincinnati, Ohio.
