Christina Chenault, née Carel, a beloved mother, wife, and pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Born on September 17, 1947, in Cincinnati, she lived a life rich in love, devotion, and grace, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Central High School’s Class of 1965, Christina’s journey was marked by unwavering commitment to her family and an extraordinary capacity for kindness and understanding. She was a woman of remarkable patience and resilience—qualities undoubtedly shaped by the immense joy and challenges of raising three sons. To her many friends, she was like a sister, a constant source of support and compassion, always ready to listen and to offer encouragement.
Christina’s heart was deeply intertwined with her family’s happiness and well-being. She shared nearly 58 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Michael Chenault, whom she treasured above all else. Together they built a life filled with warmth and adventure, frequently touring everywhere east of the Mississippi in their RV, exploring the beauty of the world hand in hand. Her love extended to her sons—Michael, Brian, and Scott (Barbara)—and blossomed further with the arrival of grandchildren Blake Moorman, Dylan Chenault, Lucy, and Charlie Chenault, who brought endless joy to her days. She also was very close to her best friends, Reba Gilbert, Donna Ledford, Judy Sharp, Emily Young and Bezzy Anderson.
A lover of the simple and beautiful pleasures in life, Christina found solace and delight in crafts, reading, and coloring by numbers. Her passion for nature was evident in her fondness for gardening and her keen eye for watching the birds and animals that brought life to her surroundings. These hobbies not only nurtured her soul but also reflected the gentle kindness and patient spirit that defined her.
Christina was the cherished daughter of the late Christie and Margaret Carel, and the dearly missed sister of Christie Carel Jr. and Phyllis Carel. Among the living, she is lovingly remembered by her siblings Greg (Barbara) Carel and Tammy Carel, as well as being aunt to Erin (Jared), Greg Jr. and Emily who all count themselves fortunate to have experienced her unwavering love and generosity.
Throughout her life, Christina took immense pride in her family, holding them as the greatest of her accomplishments. Through her enduring love, strength, and grace, she has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
A memorial mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18th at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 4026 River Road, Cinti, OH 45204
In celebrating Christina Chenault’s life, we honor a woman of exceptional warmth, resilience, and kindness—a true matriarch whose spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for generations to come.
