David J. Malsbary

David J. Malsbary, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on December 4, 1967, in Cincinnati, David was a proud member of the Oak Hills High School Class of 1986 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati. He dedicated his career to serving as an IT Specialist with Engineering Excellence, where his skills and expertise were highly valued.

Known for his friendly, funny, and outgoing personality, David brought joy to all who knew him. His laughter and warmth enriched the lives of his family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever. David's adventurous spirit shone brightly during family vacations filled with bus trips, visits to the Cincinnati Zoo, and exciting Reds games. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, whether he was engaging in his hobbies of playing soccer or sharing his love for Star Wars. David was a proud tuba player in the Oak Hills Marching Band.

David's strength and resilience were truly admirable. He overcame cancer for an impressive 25 years, a testament to his determination and fighting spirit. His journey inspired many, and his legacy will continue to motivate those who knew him.

David is survived by his parents, David and Carol Malsbary, his sister Paula (Derek) Korn, his cherished niece and nephew, Ryan and Kayla Korn, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Paul (Donna) Metzger, Doris Focht, Joyce Byrum, Debbie (Mark) Kalb, Theresa Smallwood, Lori (Curt) Stuard, Michael (Angi) Metzger, and James (Barb) Malsbary.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Mary Malsbary and Ralph and Evelyn Metzger.

Visitation will be held on January 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass in his memory will take place at St. Dominic Church on January 22, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by interment at St. Joseph New Cemetery at 11:15 AM.

David's life, marked by love, humor, and resilience, leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered.
