Donna Marie Silvernell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on April 27, 2026, leaving behind a radiant legacy of love, devotion, and generosity. Born Donna Marie Kathmann on September 2, 1953, in Cincinnati, she was a shining light whose warmth and compassion touched all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Mercy High School, Class of 1971, Donna led a life defined by selflessness and kindness. Her career with the Parking Company of America, where she diligently worked in insurance, was marked by her unwavering dedication and professionalism. Yet, it was her family that remained the crowning jewel of her life—the accomplishment she treasured above all.

Donna’s devotion to her loved ones was evident in the many delightful moments she shared. To witness her making memories with her children and grandchildren, or joining eagerly at every grandchild's sporting event, was to behold the true essence of her caring heart. Known affectionately simply as “Donna,” she was patient, compassionate, loving, and relentlessly selfless—a beacon of strength and tenderness.

Her passions extended beyond her family. Donna embraced the world with a spirit of adventure, indulging in the joy of traveling to myriad destinations across the globe. She also found great pleasure in the simple delights of shopping, a pastime that brought sparkle to her days.

For fifty-three years, she was the devoted wife of Don Silvernell, their bond a testament to enduring love and partnership. She is survived by her children: David Silvernell, together with Ilse; Kathy Herrmann with Fred Merwine Jr.; and Karen Walter with Chris. Donna’s heart was further enriched by her grandchildren, Brooke, Logan, Ella, and Vance, each of whom knew deeply the affection their grandmother lavished upon them.

In addition to her immediate family, Donna leaves behind her dear siblings: Ron Kathmann with Jean, Marilyn Brockschmidt (widow of Bob), and her sisters-in-law Jane Kramer with Steve and Donna Waymire, (widow of Patrick). Her broader family circle included many beloved nieces and nephews—Andrea, Steve, Joseph, Keith, Kim, Kelli, Stephanie, Erik, Jenna, Brian, Kevin, and Jennifer—who all carry forward the memory of her familial warmth and grace.

Donna was born the daughter of Robert and Marie Kathmann and was also the cherished daughter-in-law of Jack and Marian Silvernell, both now respectfully departed.

Her life was a harmonization of grace and grit, love and laughter. Donna Silvernell’s legacy endures in the hearts of those she cherished most and in the enduring memories of a life beautifully lived. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, we honor a woman whose patience, compassion, and love remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate to know her.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5th at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from 5-8 p.m. Funeral blessing will be Wednesday, May 6th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

We ask that you honor her in a way that truly reflects who she was. She had a deep love for life and found joy in bright, beautiful colors. In place of traditional black attire, she would have wanted those attending her visitation to wear something colorful—something that celebrates the vibrancy and happiness she brought into the world.

While her life has come to an end, her legacy of love and generosity lives on through the gift of organ donation, helping others continue their own journeys. May we come together not only to remember her, but to reflect the light, color, and compassion she shared so freely with all of us.
