Edwin "Eddie" J. Gilb, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on July 13, 1931, Eddie made a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He held a deep love for his family, which was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his cherished children: Michael (Beverly) Gilb, Karen (Victor) Keller, Sandra (Tom) Dwyer, and the late Garry (survived by Beth) Gilb. He also took great joy in the company of his grandchildren: Emily, Michael "Buddy" (Melinda), Laura, Krista (Aaron), Brandon (Emely), Jessica, Sarah, Mary (Brian), and Annemarie (Tim). The joy of being a great-grandfather was further multiplied with the arrival of Makayla, Hayden, Nolan, Jandon, Ellie, Brooklyn, Brendyn, Emmitt, Lily, Braelynn, Ashley, Lincoln, Felyx, Rosie, Ivorie, Charlotte, Eddie, William, and Finleigh. Eddie was also survived by his brother Roger (Josie) Gilb, along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, neighbors and friends who adored him.

A proud Navy veteran. Born and raised on Mt. Adams, his work ethic was remarkable; Eddie began his career at the young age of 12, selling newspapers on the corner for the Cincinnati Post followed by a rewarding career as a printer. He later went on to deliver a Door Store paper route in Mt. Adams. Upon the closure of the Cincinnati Post, he transitioned to working for the Board of Elections, where he continued to serve until his retirement. A lifelong sports fan, Eddie was fortunate enough to dedicate 51 years of his life to working as an usher for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, where he formed numerous friendships among co-workers and ticket holders alike. Eddie was a storyteller at heart, with a unique ability to capture the attention of his family and friends with his passion for sharing his memories.
