Gayle Bruns, born on February 14, 1958, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. She will be deeply remembered for her profound love of nature, her appreciation for flowers and butterflies, and her unwavering devotion to family and faith.
Gayle lived a life enriched by her passions. Her love of baking was a cherished part of her holidays and special occasions, reflecting her nurturing spirit and the joy she found in sharing with others. Nature’s beauty was a constant source of inspiration to her, and she treasured the simple pleasures of tending to flowers and observing the delicate flutter of butterflies. Her great faith served as a foundation in her life, providing strength and comfort through all seasons.
Family was central to Gayle’s heart and life. She shared many precious moments with her loving husband, Mark Bruns, and their devoted daughter, Whitney Bruns. She was a source of strength to her siblings, Mark (Paula) Brown, Delbert (Vickie) Brown and sister-in-law of Lynda Brown wife of the late Gerald Brown. Gayle’s warmth extended affectionately to her nieces and nephews: Jonathan (Kaysee) Brown, Steven (Maggie) Brown, Chrissy (Andy) Brown-Marshall, Sarah Abbeyquaye, Eric (Karina) Bruns, Abbey Whalen, Adam Whalen, Lydia Bruns, and Sophia Bruns. Her close bonds also included her sisters-in-law Gary (Jerriann) Bruns, Joe (Sandra) Bruns and Barb (Matt) Whalen, along with many great nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love and care.
Gayle was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jim and Ellen Brown, in-laws Robert and Janet Bruns and her brother Gerald Brown.
In honoring Gayle, we remember a woman whose gentle presence touched the lives of all who knew her. Her faith, her passion for the natural world, and her dedication to family were guiding lights that left an indelible mark on her community. Gayle Bruns’ memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she loved, like the flowers and butterflies she so dearly appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gayle will be Friday, April 10, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Dominic Church, 4551 Delhi Rd. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society @ St. Dominic Parish or Anderson Ferry Food Pantry.
