It is with deep love and immense sadness that we announce the passing of Gayle Marie (née Schnieders) who passed away on August 4, 2026 at the age of 68 surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 7, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Cletus and Patricia Schnieders. Gayle lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and service to others.


On May 15, 1976 Gayle married the love of her life, Shannon, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a loving home filled with faith, laughter and cherished memories.


She was a devoted mother of two children, George (Julie) Vaughn and Kelly (Jaye) Blevins, who were her greatest pride and joy. She was an adoring grandmother to Maddie, Luke, Lauren, Karli and Ryle Vaughn, Jackson and Anna Bogner and her bonus grandgirl Lena Noth. Her grandchildren brought her immeasurable happiness to her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.


She is also survived by her loving siblings who were her oldest and dearest friends; Clete (Rose) Schnieders, John (Johnnae) Schnieders, Sharon (Ed) Rue, George (Sherry) Schnieders and Mary (Frank) Adams. She was preceded in death by her siblings Tom (Debbie) Schnieders and Paul (Margie) Schnieders.


She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.


Throughout her career, Gayle faithfully served the Cincinnati Fire Department. She was respected for her commitment, dependability, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she worked alongside. Her dedication to supporting those who served the community was a source of great pride.


Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, caring sister, and loyal friend. She was the matriarch, the loving foundation of the Schnieders family and her strength and unconditional love touched countless lives. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she impacted.


A Visitation will be held at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd. Tuesday, August 11th from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, August 12th at St. Dominic Church at 10:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; The Barrett Cancer Center or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
