Listen to Obituary

Geraldine M. "Jerri" Boehm, a beloved member of our community, passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 92 after a graceful and valiant struggle with Parkinson’s. Born on November 13, 1932, Jerri led a life filled with passion, resilience, and an unwavering spirit.

Throughout her life, Jerri was known for her vibrant personality and diverse interests. She was a dedicated registered nurse who over decades touched the lives of many with her compassionate care. Her commitment extended beyond her profession; she was also an adult Mass server at St. Dominic, where her faith played a central role in her life.

An enthusiastic supporter of the performing arts, Jerri was a patron for many years at the Elder-Seton Performing Arts Series as well as Cincinnati’s Covedale Theatre and Broadway shows at the Aronoff Center. She never missed a chance to cheer on the Elder Panthers, proudly holding football and basketball season tickets for more than 40 seasons. A fan of Johnny Mathis, she enjoyed the joy and comfort that music brought into her life, playing violin in her youth and the dulcimer later in life.

Jerri's zest for life was reflected in her many other hobbies—she enjoyed clog dancing, traveling, and taking picturesque river cruises aboard the American Queen and Delta Queen. Her love for being active in nature was strong, especially evident in her fondness for strolling for hours through the Botanic Garden during her many visits to Chicago. Jerri was also active in a bowling league for many years. More recently, she enjoyed a daily ice cream treat, which always perked her up and brought a smile to her face.

Family was immensely important to Jerri, who cherished every moment spent with her children, Michael (Pam) Boehm, Ellen (Dennis) Smith, and Christopher (Amy) Boehm. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, Michelle (Joseph), Jennie (Brandon), Ryan, Collier, Devlin, Conner, Ethan, and Allison, along with her great grandson Aiden and a baby girl on the way. Jerri also leaves behind her siblings, Daniel Sullivan (Barb) and Kathleen (John) Loughrey, and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

Jerri was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Boehm, her parents Charles and Helen Sullivan, and her sister-in-law Patricia Sullivan. She was the last surviving member of the Boehm generation that included all of Ralph’s brothers, sisters and in-laws. She is remembered not only for her positive energy and independent and strong-willed nature but also for the love and joy she brought to the lives of those around her.

The visitation to honor Jerri's life will take place on November 5, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Road, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Dominic Church at 10:00 AM and burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will then be held at Western Hills Country Club. Memorials may be made to Bayley Senior Care, Elder High School, Hospice of Cincinnati, the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and Seton High School.

Jerri Boehm leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and a commitment to her family and community that will be cherished forever.
