Preceded in death by mother Darlene A. Thomas, (nee Hahn), father Harold B. Young, Jr., grandmother Jane V. Hahn, pawpaw Malcolm J. Hahn. Aunt Dawn Hollander.
Survived by his beloved wife Judy A. Young (nee Magee), daughter Mallory A. Butler (Ronald), step-mother Jeanne Young, and Uncle Chris Hahn. Beloved grandchildren, Grayce Butler, Emma Butler, Noah Butler, and Lilly Butler. Great-grandchildren Malakai Durham, Lyric Durham, Elijah Butler. Brothers, Gary Young, Glen Young, and Garrett Young, and sister, Ginger Young. Half-brothers, David and Steve Young. Nieces and nephews, Wesley, Erika, Alex, Tyler, Glen, Mark, and many loving cousins.
Greg was an avid Colts fan, strong in his faith, enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, tossing football with his grandson Noah, and liked muscle car events. He loved reminiscing about his childhood, remembering fun parties his parents hosted, playing ball with his siblings, and having deep philosophical conversations with his son-in-law. He enjoyed Mt. Echo Park, attending Stingers Hockey and Cincinnati Reds games with his wife.
He loved making his dad’s pecan pie recipe, giving his grandkids nicknames just like his pawpaw did, and teaching his daughter so many things in life.
Judy, his wife, reminisces about the birth of their daughter, watching Greg walk their daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, and being present at all of his grandbabies' births and the special bonding that meant for them both.
Mallory, his daughter, reminisces about getting the best wedding day advice to calm her nerves, “just keep staring at your soon-to-be husband, Ron.” Mallory said all she ever needed in life was to find him in every room. That he was at each of her kids' births.
Greg’s brothers, sister, and cousins remember him as “2:00 on The Grandbaby Clock” that his pawpaw built.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 9th at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd. from 10 a.m. until time of funeral blessing at 11:30 a.m.
