Preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Waller, and brother Jack Armstrong and sister Eva Mae Covey.

Henry Clinton Armstrong was born November 5, 1924, in Ludlow, Kentucky.

Six months before his high school graduation, World War II erupted, prompting Henry to enlist in the military at the age of 18. During WW2, he served in B Battery, 607th Field Artillery of the 71st Infantry Division as an ammunition handler, a pack artilleryman and later an artillery spotter across France, Germany and Austria. He also served in a L3 light reconnaissance aircraft known affectionately by the men who flew them as the "Grasshopper". He directly participated in the liberation the Gunskirchen Lager concentration camp in Austria. Henry continued his military journey when the war ended and completed his service in 1984 retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Following the war, Henry was head meat cutter at Kroger supermarket, where he worked with his wife, Pat. They celebrated 65 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.

Henry loved his God and savior Jesus Christ and was an active member of his church (Grace Covenant). He never met a baby he didn’t love or want to hold. Music breathed life into him and he loved to dance. He was a community man (West Cincinnati that is) and served in many capacities. He loved his family and friends. He had a great passion for veterans. As a founding member of the Delhi Veterans Association, his goal was to recognize all veterans for their service and sacrifice to our great nation.

Henry passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the age of 100.
