Herbert Joseph Flohr, born on November 15, 1935, in Cincinnati, passed away on July 16, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, known for his vibrant personality and deep connections within his community.
Herbert dedicated over 25 years of his life to the industry as a devoted salesman with Paramount Distillers. His commitment to his career was complemented by his educational foundation; he proudly graduated from Elder High School as a member of the Class of 1953. His spirit of service extended beyond his professional life, having honorably served in the United States Army.
Herbert was a well-known and beloved figure in his circles. He was social, witty, and funny, often brightening the day for those around him. A regular bargain shopper at Kroger, he also loved to spend time with his friends at McDonald's, where he forged lasting friendships through laughter and conversation.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Herbert embraced many hobbies that filled his life with joy. He was an avid golfer and bowler, enjoyed cooking soup and chili, and took immense pride in attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. His family was his greatest accomplishment, and he took great joy in nurturing their passions and celebrating their achievements.
Herbert is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene E. Flohr; his children, Pam (Jerry) Kleeman, Susan (Tom) Williams, and Linda (Jack) Lamping; and a legacy of grandchildren—Joe (Nicole), Greg (Amy), Nick (Katie), Brian (Jill), Michael (Jessica), Ben (Trisha), Matthew (Daryl), Jessica (Gavin), David (Katlyn), Lauren (Ben), and Allison (Landen). He was also a proud great-grandfather to Quinton, Stella, Nolan, Lillie, Evelyn, McKenzie, Ty, Brayden, Bridget, Alexandra, Kaleb, Connor, Elizabeth, Blake, Bryce, Camden, Carson, Brady, Gabby, Rory, Layne, Owen, Tessa, Madelyn, Cooper, Ellie, Wyatt, and a baby girl on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Marcella Flohr, and his siblings, Ruth (Howard) Kathmann and Lorraine (Jim) Hasselbeck.
Memorial Mass will be Friday, July 25th, 10 A.M. at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 4044 River Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45204.
Herbert’s legacy of kindness, humor, and devotion to family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward the love and joy he shared throughout his extraordinary life.
