James P. Ryan, aka "Jim, Uncle Jimbo and Jim Bad" a beloved devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on September 10, 1963. Jim was a person who embodied love, kindness, compassion, affection, strength and humor, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jim graduated from Elder High School in 1981 before furthering his education at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State University. His professional journey led him to serve as General Manager at KOI Precast Concrete, a role in which he demonstrated his leadership and dedication to this family-owned business.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force and the 123d Air Control Squadron, Ohio Air National Guard. Serving overseas in support of Operation Southern Watch, Kuwait, Ali Al Salem AB. Some of his decorations included: Air Force Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Air Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon. His commitment to serving his country was one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside the love and support he provided to his family.

Jim was known for his infectious smile and his big heart. He was lovable, kind, giving, affectionate, and witty, traits that endeared him to many. His interests included attending concerts, golfing, dining out, and enjoying the company of family and friends in gatherings that reflected his appreciation for connection and joy. Above all Jim just loved being with his wife Cindy. From the moment they met it was clear they were destined to be soulmates. They built a life together filled with shared dreams, endless laughter, and unconditional love. Their love story never had an ending; it lives on in her heart.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Cindy Ryan. He leaves behind his cherished children: Trevor (Bryson) Ryan, Marissa (Jordon) Maag, and Logan (Erika) Ryan, along with his granddaughter, Lenora Maag. Jim also held a special place in his heart for his extended family, including his mother-in-law Candace Huff and father-in-law Ed Armstrong, his siblings: Linda (Mike) Montgomery, Colleen Ryan, Nancy (Iqbal) Vohra, Tim (Julie) Ryan, Michael (Norma) Ryan, Kathleen (Mike) Griffith, Stephen (Carol) Ryan, and Laura (the late Adam) Niangane, as well as his in-laws Anthony Armstrong, Brandy Hicks, and Danielle (Nick) Cento. He was also a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Joan Ryan, and his brother Joe Ryan. His memory will forever be cherished by those who were lucky enough to know him and will continue to inspire love and strength within his family.

A funeral mass will be Tuesday, January 27th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
