Janet M. (Macke) Wendel, fondly known as “Mickey” by those close to her, passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on May 7, 1939, Janet was a cherished presence who deeply touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Janet’s life was defined by the love she gave and received, her unwavering kindness, and her enduring devotion to family. She is survived by her loving husband, Tom Wendel, for 65 years, whose steadfast partnership was a foundation of strength throughout their years together. Janet’s legacy continues through her children: Keith Wendel, Tom Wendel, Robert (Kim) Wendel, Lisa (Steve) Berger, and grandson Alex (Kristin). She was very close to her cousin and "Best Friend"- Marlene Collinsworth. Each of them carries a part of her spirit and the invaluable lessons she imparted over a lifetime of care and guidance.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Mary Macke and her brother Ed (Viola) Macke whose memories she held dearly in her heart.

Throughout her years, Janet built a life marked by compassion, gratitude, and resilience. She was not only a homemaker in her own home, but also loved to baby sit the neighborhood kids. She was a proud graduate of Seton High School. While we mourn her loss, her loving memory lives on in the hearts of family and friends. The memories made in her presence will be cherished and recounted for many years to come.

The family invites all who knew Janet to join them in honoring her life during visitation, which will be held at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238 on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM. Memorials in her honor may be made to American Heart Association.

Janet M. Wendel will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will remain, a testament to a life well-lived and an inspiration to those whose lives she touched.
