With profound respect and heartfelt remembrance, we honor the life of Jo Ann Short, a cherished homemaker whose loving spirit and dedicated heart touched all who were privileged to know her. Born on August 25, 1940, in Hilltop, Kentucky, Jo Ann lived a life rich in devotion, creativity, and family warmth until her peaceful passing on March 14, 2026.

Jo Ann’s journey was deeply rooted in the values instilled during her youth, which she proudly carried forth after graduating from Hughes High School. She was a woman of exquisite kindness, known for her loving and caring nature—a gentle soul who found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of daily life. Her Wednesday "Baking Days," especially her beloved chocolate cookies, were a source of fond memories and a testament to the sweetness she brought into the lives of those around her.

Her hands were ever busy with beautiful creations; Jo Ann delighted in cross stitch, making baby blankets, painting, designing clothing, and crafting paper dolls. These hobbies speak eloquently of a woman whose creativity and attention to detail transcended her domestic realm, enriching her family's home with both artistry and love.

Jo Ann’s proudest accomplishment was her family, the cornerstone of her existence. She was the devoted wife of Juette "Jet" Short, whose tender care brought her much happiness and comfort. Together, they built a legacy of love, surrounded by their children: Camala (Paul) Hartlaub, Kimberly (Robert) Richardson, Amberly (David) Lake, and Deanna Short. Her life blossomed further through her grandchildren—Brittany (Michael) Collins, Robert (Megan) Richardson, Katelyn (Ryan) Hoskins, Tyler (Ali) Lake, Corry (Taylor) Lake, David (Abby) Lake, Breanna Lake, Aimee Hartlaub, and Grace Hartlaub—all of whom will carry forward the warmth of her spirit. Jo Ann’s family circle also included numerous nieces and nephews whom she fondly cherished.

In sorrowful remembrance, we note the preceding loss of her beloved grandson Christopher Hartlaub, as well as her parents, George and Mary Jones. Her siblings—Mildred Dozier, Bobby Jones, Jay C Jones, Joyce Schutte, and Joseph Jones—also predeceased her, leaving behind a sacred space filled with fond recollections and tender legacy.

The celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be held on March 18, 2026, at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45238. The festivities will commence with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The family invites those whose lives Jo Ann so warmly touched to gather in honoring her memory.

Jo Ann Short’s life was a tapestry of love, care, and artistry woven seamlessly through the fabric of her family and community. With graceful humility and radiant affection, she leaves behind an enduring legacy exemplified by her heartfelt dedication to those she loved most. In her passing, we find both sorrow and solace, grateful for the time shared and the memories that will forever enrich our hearts.
