Joellyn Sue Winkler, a cherished soul whose life's journey began on February 14, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. She graced the world with her gentle presence and unwavering devotion, leaving behind a legacy that is as rich and vibrant as the antiques she so lovingly collected.
A proud graduate of Western Hills High School, Joellyn devoted her professional life to service and precision as an accountant for the Oak Hills School District. Yet, her true pride and joy lay not in her career but in the bonds of family and community she nurtured so tenderly.
Joellyn was a woman of profound care and steadfast loyalty, qualities that defined her interactions and friendships. Always placing the needs of others before her own, she was the epitome of selflessness and dedication. Her heart found its fullest expression in the countless afternoons spent at her son’s sporting events, quietly keeping score – a humble yet profound act of love that spoke volumes about her character.
Her hobbies were as lively as her spirit; among them, collecting antiques and her appreciation for their beauty, while attending the sporting events of her son and grandchildren reflected her boundless support and affection. Joellyn’s proudest accomplishments were her beloved family and the running of her antique business, as well as the treasured times visiting her daughter Tara at her daughter’s home.
Joellyn leaves behind a living family who carry forward her legacy with love and respect: her devoted son Todd Gibson, and her beloved granddaughter Tara Gibson. She also leaves sisters and siblings whose lives were enriched by her presence — Valerie (Michael) Tiller; and nieces and nephews Sean Foertsch, Sheila Meyer, Beth Cliffe, Andy Gibson, and Sarah Eimerman.
She departs this life having been preceded in death by her dear husband John "Jack" Winkler, her daughter Tara Lyn Gibson, and her loving parents Coy “Shelley” and Lila Gambrel.
The community will gather to honor Joellyn’s memory at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238, with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. on March 31, 2026. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. the same day, followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery, 1031 Neeb Road, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
