John T. "Jack" Barnhorst, born on June 27, 1946, passed away on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. A devoted husband to Angie Barnhorst and a proud father to his children, Cherie (Rob) Lonneman and the late David (Julie) Barnhorst, Jack’s life was enriched by the joy and laughter of his grandchildren: Allison (Rob), Zachary, Isabelle, and Emmett, and the delight of being a great-grandfather to Levi. A treasured place will always be held for Jack in the hearts of his siblings, Richard (Joyce) Barnhorst, Tony (late Vern) Barnhorst, Kathy (late Frank) Fijalkovich, Tim (Kris) Barnhorst, and Bob (Trish) Barnhorst. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, friends and former co-workers who were fortunate to experience his warmth and wisdom.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Dolores Barnhorst, his son David and his wife Julie Barnhorst and his siblings Bill Barnhorst, Donna (Jerry-living) Kneipp and Mary (Jerry) Cook.

Jack was known for his old-school ways and a quiet demeanor that belied a sharp wit and a good sense of humor. He took pleasure in the simple things in life, often enjoying hikes in nature and sipping tea while watching his favorite westerns. His love for family was evident in everything he did, encompassing a simple, frugal lifestyle that brought great happiness to those around him. Among his many endearing traits was a big sweet tooth, which endeared him further to those who shared meals and celebrations with him.

A visitation will be held on February 13, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6 PM, both taking place at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd. Cincinnati, Oh 45238.

Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the memories and stories shared by family and friends, ensuring that his legacy remains a vibrant part of their lives.
