John N. Waymeyer, a beloved supervisor at the Greater Cincinnati Water Works and a cherished member of his community, passed away on March 28, 2026. Born on December 5, 1951, John lived a life rich with dedication, camaraderie, and a spirit of adventure.

John graduated from Elder High School, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by service and camaraderie. He answered the call to serve his country and was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty was a testament to his character and love for his nation.

Throughout his career, John was known as a diligent and capable supervisor at the Greater Cincinnati Water Works, contributing significantly to the community he held dear. Beyond his professional accomplishments, John was a fun-loving individual, whose expansive circle of friends reflected the warmth and joy he brought to those around him.

John’s passions were many and varied. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the thrill of horse races at River Downs with close friends. His love for fishing, especially the treasured memories of going deep-sea fishing, was a highlight of his leisure time. Vacations at St. Pete Beach with friends were cherished moments that spoke to his joyful and adventurous spirit.

He is lovingly remembered by his living family: his sister Mary (Eddie) Waymeyer-Glacken; his nieces and nephews Patrick (Liz), Tricia, Christine (Jeff), David, Nancy, Nikki (Chris) and Joyce Meyer; and his beloved aunt and uncle, Sister Nancy Hoffman and Larke Hoffman. He was step-brother to Lori, Bill, Steve, Rick and the late Geri and Ron. Their reflections on his life recount a man who was a source of laughter, support, and lasting friendship.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Patricia Waymeyer, and his siblings Tom Waymeyer, Dan Waymeyer, Paul Waymeyer, Bobby Waymeyer, and Debbie Monroe. Their memories of him are held with deep affection and respect.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 18th at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd. from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12:00 p.m.

John N. Waymeyer’s life was one marked by service, loyalty, and joy. His legacy lives on through the countless friendships he fostered and the family who loved him dearly. He will be fondly remembered as a man who embraced life fully and offered his best to all who knew him.
