Kevin Boyd Sellars, a resident of Carthage, passed away tragically on June 21, 2025, at the age of 49. Kevin was born on January 24, 1976. His work ethic was evident throughout his career, having dedicated over 20 years to Canter Battery.
Kevin was known for his infectious humor and his ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a particular fondness for jokes, always ready with a quip or a story that could elicit laughter. One of his cherished memories was related to a Tim McGraw song that inspired him to create a Fried Bologna Sandwich with mayo and tomato.
Kevin had a passion for wrestling, often found enthusiastically watching on television on Friday nights. He cherished spending time with his friends and loved his dogs, who were undoubtedly a source of companionship and joy in his life.
He celebrated many proud accomplishments, including the purchase of his first home, which stood as a milestone in his life’s journey.
Kevin is survived by his sister, Jamie Lynn (Billy Green) Sester, and Czara Lynn (Tyler Lawhorn) Thomas. He was an uncle to Hensley and Noah, and a valued nephew to Ray (Karen) Lawson, Gwendolyn (John) Overbee, Terry (Cheryl) Lawson, and Charlotte Lawson. His fiancée and partner for over 14 years, Amy Boyer, shared a profound bond with him that will be remembered deeply. Kevin is also survived by numerous cousins and friends who will miss his warmth and spirited nature.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Lawson, and father, Jackie Sellars. Kevin's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as they remember his laughter, love, and the lasting impact he had on their lives.
Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
