Mary Ann Mullen

Mary Ann (Oberting) Mullen, age 89 of Hidden Valley in Lawrenceburg, IN passed away on 6-29-25. She was born on December 31, 1935 in Columbus, OH. The daughter of Frederick I. and M. Esther (Corwin) Oberting, and sister to Frederick C. Oberting. Mary Ann was a proud West High School (Columbus, OH) alumna. She raised her four children in Columbus and moved to Cincinnati where she worked as an executive secretary at Union Central Life Insurance Co. until her retirement. While there she was active in ABWA (American Business Women's Assoc.). She loved being involved with family and friends. She enjoyed golf, travel and was an accomplished quilter and stitcher. 

Mary Ann is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Joseph E. Mullen. Her children, Greg (Marty) Gossett of hide-a-way Hills, OH, Kristen (Pete) Price of Columbus, Kenny Gossett of Cincinnati, and Courtney Gossett of Cincinnati. The Mullen children, Mike, Dan, Linda, Gayle and Sharon of Cincinnati and their families, her brother Fred Oberting, nieces Pam Hertenstein and Chris Robinson.

Mary Ann had many lifelong friends; her high school besties, Union Central colleagues, Chips Chicks, Ohio Valley Quilters Guild, Material Girls, Rivertown Quilt Guild, ARC 14 (Columbus) and the Hidden Valley Golf Club community. She was our Queen. A special mention of her mother's hometown of Byesville, OH - a place of treasured memories throughout her life. Our thanks to the staff at Ridgewood Health Campus of Lawrenceburg and Our Hospice of South Central Indiana for the care Mary Ann received. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 10th at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church 25 E. Harrison Ave. North Bend, Oh 45052.  Family will greet friends from 9 AM until time of Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, please support your local homeless shelter.
