Delhi Township

Mary Cecile Malone, born on February 25, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, departed this world on November 21, 2024. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and a commitment to her family and community that few could rival.

As the beloved wife of Tom Malone, Mary was a constant source of support and kindness, embodying a spirit that was always pleasant, accommodating, and understanding. She was the proud mother to three wonderful children: Patrick Malone, Michael Malone and his wife Dayna, and Coleen Williams. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of her grandchildren—Rachel, Brenden, Andrea, Cameron, Shellbi, and McKenzie—who will forever cherish the joy she brought into their lives.

Educated at Holy Family School and Seton High School, Mary carried the values of her education throughout her life. She was not only an exceptional student but also an exemplary figure in her children's extracurricular pursuits. Her contributions to St. Dominic School as a coach for girls' softball and volleyball, along with her role as the track coach at Seton High School, demonstrated her passion for nurturing young talent and fostering a sense of community spirit. Moreover, her involvement as coordinator and entertainer of the St. Dominic Variety Shows showcased her artistic flair and ability to bring joy to those around her.

A devoted member of the St. Dominic Church, Mary held the esteemed honor of being a fifty-year member of the church choir. She played a pivotal role in inaugurating the guitar mass, a cherished tradition that enriched the church's worship experience. Her culinary prowess, coupled with her talents in sewing, found her affectionately remembered for her delightful goetta and the costumes she crafted for dance classes and Halloween, ensuring that every moment spent crafting was filled with love and creativity.

Mary's hobbies extended to fixing anything that was broken around the house, a sentiment that resonated with her innate desire to uplift her surroundings and those who inhabited them. Her dedication to her craft and her community did not go unnoticed, as she proudly earned her place in both the St. Dominic and Seton High School Athletic Hall of Fame Clubs.

Mary is predeceased by her parents, Norbert and Alberta Junker, whose legacy of love and dedication to family shaped her character. She is also mourned by a devoted family that includes her siblings: Mike (the late JoAnn) Junker, Judi (the late Vince) Lasita, the late Steve Junker and his wife Elaine, Kathy Hennessy and her husband Patrick, who will all remember her light and warmth.
