Patricia T. Shore

October 23, 1925 — July 4, 2025

Patricia Shore died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2025. Patricia was born on October 23, 1925, in New York City. Patricia’s parents, Patrick Kelly and Mary Killeen Kelly, Irish immigrants, became naturalized American citizens and resided in New York City.

Patricia is predeceased by her husband, John Franklin Shore, a World War II veteran who served in the US Navy, her sister Winifred Kenny (James), and John Kelly (Catherine Fox). Patricia had many loving predeceased cousins but her closest, Winifred “Win” Sieger Farrell, was like a sister.

Patricia is a graduate of Cathedral High School in New York City. Hunter College in the Bronx, NYC awarded her a full scholarship. Patricia and John married in 1946. Before their marriage Patricia worked as a bookkeeper at a local business.

Patricia met John while he was on military furlough in New York City. They had eight children. John’s job took the family from New York City to St. Louis, MO. to Cincinnati, OH.

Patricia’s key vocation focused on raising her eight children. Parenting that spanned generations required her remarkable understanding, exceptional patience, and the jewel of a loving open mindedness. She highly valued education, celebrated her husband’s and children’s successes, and met their challenges with empathy and kindness.

Patricia is survived by her children Carolyn Shore Aresu (Bernard), Newark DE; Joan Stavale (Louis), Irvine, CA; John P. Shore (Linda Dreyer), Cincinnati OH; Eileen Walker (Greg), Riverside, CA; Marianne Shore-Kuhn (Carl), Cincinnati, OH; James Shore (Beth Jump), Cincinnati, OH; Teresa Shore (Nelson Lam), San Francisco, CA; Julie Shore (Scott Gaede), Cincinnati, OH. Patricia is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She reveled in their presence and their accomplishments.

Patricia was a decades long member of St. Dominic Church in Cincinnati. She was fervently religious, committed to her parish and to the Blessed Mother. She found peace and spirituality in religious celebrations and was delightedly happy with the election of Pope Leo XIV.
