Robert (Bob) Krekeler was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Edwin and Gertrude Krekeler. Bob attended St. Lawrence School and later went on to study at Elder High School and St. Gregory Seminary. Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force and was extremely proud to wear his USAF Veteran hat. Throughout his career, Bob worked at the IRS and served as a NTEU steward for many years. In his spare time, Bob liked to spend time with his family, watch his grandchildren play sports, and root on his favorite sports teams; The Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and the Bearcats.
Bob leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Ruth Krekeler, his four children, Brian (Lauren) Krekeler, Kelly (Patrick) Stenger, Kevin (Katie) Krekeler, Kimberly Krekeler (Jordan Meece), and his five grandchildren; Declan, Asher, Miles, Hunter, and Claire. In addition, Bob leaves behind his sister Janet Poehner, and brothers Michael Krekeler, Steve (Cathy) Krekeler, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Leonard Krekeler, Thomas Krekeler, Jimmy Krekeler, and his sister Joyce Mueller.
Please join the family in celebrating Bob's life at his visitation on Monday, June 8th from 5-8 pm at the Vitt, Stermer, and Anderson Funeral Home (4619 Delhi Road). Funeral mass in Bob's honor will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at St. Dominic Church at 10 am (4551 Delhi Pike) with burial to follow at the New St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Due to COVID 19, masks are encouraged at visitation and mass. Memorial contributions may be made on his behalf to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division (5555 Frantz Road, Dublin, OH 43017). The family would like to sincerely thank everyone who has shared their memories and condolences of Bob.
