Robert William Phair, age 81, of Delhi, passed away on May 18, 2025. Born on April 27, 1944, he leaves behind a legacy marked by laughter, dedication, and community involvement that resonated with all who knew him.
As Past President of the Delhi Athletic Association and a member of the Delhi Hall of Fame, Bob's influence extended deeply into the fabric of his community. His passion for sports was evident through his role as Past President of the Oak Hills Jr. Pro Basketball Association, where he inspired countless young athletes. He was also a cherished member of the Blue Chip Umpires, contributing his love for baseball throughout his life.
Known for his delightful sense of humor, Bob was an amateur comedian who had an innate ability to brighten any room. He was celebrated for his upbeat personality; often recognized as one of the happiest individuals anyone could know, he approached life with an unwavering commitment to joy, rarely seen in a bad mood or angry.
Bob was a dedicated father and grandfather, deeply loved by his children, Scott Patrick Phair, Kelly Brian Phair, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Phair. He reveled in the roles of father and grandfather, taking immense pride in his grandchildren, Grace, Keira, and Leo Phair, who brought him immeasurable joy. His furry companion, Buddy, was never far from his side, further testament to his loving nature.
He is survived by his beloved children and grandchildren, as well as his brother-in-law, Ray (Doris) Kennedy, and Ron (Stephanie) Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Barbara Phair, his brother Jim (Kathy) Kennedy, and his parents, Robert J. and Elsie Phair, along with Jeannette Phair.
Family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 starting at 5 PM until 7 PM. Remembrance stories of Bob will began at 7 PM.
Bob's lasting imprint on his family and community will continue to be felt, as his spirit remains woven into the memories of those he touched. His legacy of laughter, kindness, and dedication to family will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
