Ronald Eggers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Eggers, who left this world on May 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 22, 1944, in Somerset, Kentucky, Ron exemplified a life marked by dedication, love, and laughter.

Ron enjoyed a fulfilled career in the Registry Division at the United Postal Service, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving the community. His work was a testament to his commitment and reliability, qualities he carried into every aspect of his life.

An alumnus of Pulaski County High School, Ronald's education laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors. His spirit of service continued as he honorably served in the United States Air Force Reserve, showcasing his love for his country.

Ron was a fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor, always bringing joy to those around him. He cherished his role as a wonderful husband to Sue Eggers (nee Range), with whom he shared an admirable 50-year marriage. Together, they created a lifetime of beautiful memories, underscored by a deep bond of love and companionship.

Beyond his professional and familial commitments, Ronald was a man of many interests. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid collector of stamps, baseball cards, and coins. His passions brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared similar interests. Above all, Ron loved spending time with his family and friends, valuing each moment spent in their company.

In addition to his living family, Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Juanita Eggers, and his sister, Mary Lou Kearns. He is survived by his loving wife Sue, his siblings Janice (Alton) Barron, Shirley (the late Larry) Hamilton, and Sally (Barry) Daulton, as well as many nieces and nephews who admired and respected him deeply.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 27th at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd. from 5 PM until time of funeral service at 7 PM. Visitation will also take place at the Somerset Undertaking Company & Crematory, 113 N Main St. Somerset, KY 42501 on Thursday, May 29th from 10AM until funeral service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at the Mill Springs National Cemetery. 

As we remember Ron Eggers, we celebrate his life filled with laughter, love, and dedication. His memory will continue to live on through the hearts of all who knew him.
