Russell Raymond Brose, affectionately known to many as "Russ," passed away on August 10, 2026. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on August 17, 1937, Russell’s life was defined by a deep commitment to his family, an abiding sense of adventure, and a generous, spirited presence that touched all who knew him.

A proud graduate of Elder High School, class of 1957, Russ remained deeply rooted in his beloved Cincinnati throughout his life. His strong work ethic and leadership skills led him to become the Sales Manager with Prudential Life Insurance. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Russ became the owner of Prep Publications, the Delhi Monthly Shopper, and Brose Tours, endeavors through which he forged lasting relationships and served his community with remarkable dedication.

A man of many passions and talents, Russ was known for his charismatic and friendly demeanor. His generosity seemed boundless, and his adventurous nature was unmistakable whether leading family camping trips, orchestrating joyous holidays, or delighting his grandchildren and friends with well-timed pranks. Russ cherished family vacations and spent many happy times exploring the world on cruises, always ready to take on something new with his trademark smile. He took great delight in his '57 Chevy golf cart touring Lake Santee.

Russ's commitment to community and faith was equally exemplary. He was an active member of the Delhi-Riverview Kiwanis Club and the Delhi Business Association. As President of Liberty Tree Campground and a member of the TAG Group, Russ enthusiastically advanced causes close to his heart. Notably, his dedication to his parish was pivotal he helped establish St. Simon Parish and served as Festival Chairman, building connections and pouring his energy into every task.

Russ's loving legacy continues through his devoted wife, Vicki Brose; his children, Timothy (Lynn) Brose, Kenneth (Carla) Brose, Susan (Greg) Lovins, Daniel (Lyn) Brose, Janice (David) Sowder, Eric (Jasmine Nicholson) Steinmann. He was a cherished grandfather to Christina (Alex) Fink, Erica (Joe) Dugan, Keith Brose, Kyle Brose, Jared (Grace) Brose, Kenny Brose, Jacob (Rachel) Brose, Andrew (Leah) Brose, Anthony Brose, Mark (Jessica) Spurlock II, Michael Lovins, Becky (Brian) Bays, Alex Greeley, Dylan Jones, MacKenzie Sowder, Trey Sowder, and Justice (Kate) Steinmann. He is great-grandfather of numerous great grandchildren. Each member of his large and loving family carries forward his tradition of kindness, humor, and steadfast support.

He is deeply mourned and warmly remembered by his surviving family, while also being joyfully reunited with those who passed before him: his parents; Ray and Esther Brose, his adopted parents; Elmer and Elvera Hessling, his wife Virginia Brose and his son Michael Brose, and his grandson Zachary Brose. He is also brother to Rita Miele, Mary Ciampone and Dolores "Dodie" Miele, Vernon and Howard Brose. 

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Russell at a visitation on August 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi, located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass will be held on August 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 4551 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238. 

Russell Raymond Brose’s life was a shining example of love, generosity, and dedicated service. The memories he created—full of laughter, warmth, and adventure—will be cherished by all who knew him for generations to come.

Memorials may be made to Elder High School or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
