Sandra L. Evers, affectionately known as "Sandy" and endearingly called "Memaw" by her loved ones, passed away on April 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of devotion and grace. Born on October 26, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sandy was a radiant presence whose life was marked by an unwavering commitment to family, community, and personal passions.
A proud graduate of Seton High School, Class of 1964, Sandy’s intellect and diligence naturally led her to a distinguished career as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Meyer Vogelpohl. Yet, beyond the walls of the professional realm, she was widely revered—the Queen who ruled her family with passion, intelligence, and an indomitable spirit. Her proudest accomplishment, as she often expressed, was her beloved family.
Sandy's heart blossomed most vividly amidst her cherished family gatherings. She delighted in every holiday event spent with her children and grandchildren, treasuring especially her Christmas tradition known as “Last Gift – A Box in a Box,” a testament to her thoughtfulness and creativity. These moments were made even more special by time spent in the serene coastal beauty of Destin and Estero, Florida.
An aficionado of the finer crafts, Sandy nurtured a love for gardening and sewing, applying both artistry and precision as a seamstress. She found pleasure and camaraderie in bowling and was an active, contributing member of St. Dominic Church and the Western Hills Garden Club, where she cultivated friendships and enriched her community.
Sandy was the beloved wife of Don Evers for over 58 years, whose partnership was the foundation of a loving household. She was a devoted mother to Katie (Bill Begg) Evers, Sarah (Andy) Assaley, and Amanda (Scott) Moreland, each of whom carried her spirit forward in their lives. Her role as Memaw was cherished by her grandchildren Abby (Danny), Cali, Allie, Isabella, Ava, Payton, Aubrey, Anna, and William, who knew her warmth and guidance intimately. The tapestry of her family extended to her nephews and nieces, Kristen (John) and Kevin (Ashlee), and further still to her great-nieces and great-nephews Corinne (Matt), Emma, Taylor, and Avery, all of whom held her dear.
Sandy was born to Hank and Ginny Hinkler, and her life was graced by the siblingship of Diane Hinkler, now departed but forever preserved in the memories that shaped her.
In celebrating Sandy Evers, one honors a woman of strength and tenderness, whose reign as the family's steadfast queen is remembered in the hearts she touched. Through her enduring love, vibrant spirit, and the countless lives she enriched, her legacy remains immortal.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
