Scott E. Klingenbeck

Scott E. Klingenbeck, a beloved figure both on and off the baseball field, passed away on May 20, 2025 at the age of 54. He was born on February 3, 1971, and during his lifetime, he touched many lives with his infectious spirit and dedication to his passions.

Scott's legacy as a talented athlete began with his impressive career in Major League Baseball, where he played for notable teams including the Baltimore Orioles, the Minnesota Twins, and ultimately returned home to play for the Cincinnati Reds. His contributions to the sport were marked by a profound love for the game and an unwavering commitment to youth sports, as he actively coached baseball for young athletes, passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport.

In addition to his remarkable achievements in baseball, Scott was a proud member of the Oak Hills Booster Association and was honored with induction into the Old Timers Westside Hall of Fame. His vivacious personality was characterized by a happy-go-lucky demeanor that endeared him to all who knew him. In his later years, he was often described as a big teddy bear, providing warmth and kindness to his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his devoted mother, Lois Klingenbeck (nee Kanet), as well as his siblings: Ken Klingenbeck, Kevin (Leslie) Klingenbeck, and Kim Billups. He leaves behind a cherished legacy that includes his nieces and nephews: Emily, Dominique, Monique, Kayla, Kyle, and Kory, along with his great nieces and nephews: Aaliyah, Payton, Oliver, and Owen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence "Larry" Klingenbeck, along with his nephews: Connor, Casey, and Parker.

A Mass celebrating Scott's life will be held on June 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Cincinnati, located at 810 Neeb Road. The service will commence at 11:00 AM , allowing family and friends to come together in remembrance of a truly remarkable man. Following Mass a celebration of Scott's life will continue at Jim & Jack's On the River, 3456 River Rd. (45204) from 1 PM until 7 PM.
