Wanda Lee Martini, born on March 18, 1943, in Newport, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. As a dedicated LPN at Hillenbrand Nursing Home, Wanda touched the lives of many, known for her patience, intelligence, and a good sense of humor that brought joy to both her colleagues and patients.
Educated at Newport High School and Jewish Hospital College of Nursing, Wanda exemplified a commitment to the care of others, a mirror of her thoughtful and loving personality. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her four children, instilling in them the values of compassion and hard work.
Wanda was a devoted mother to Albert Martini, Robert Martini, Mary (Chris) Price, and Lawrence (Tracy) Martini. She also cherished her role as grandmother to Lia, Anna, David, Gabrielle, and Zachary, fostering bonds rich with love and warmth. Her sister, Bonnie (Carl) Geiser, alongside her in-laws JoAnn Martini SC and John Martini, will remember her fondly. As an aunt, she played an important role in the lives of Brian (Lisa) Geiser, Andy (Linda) Geiser, Michelle (Craig) Stiens, and Jeff (Katherine) Martini, sharing her wisdom and creativity with the next generation.
Wanda had a passion for several hobbies, including crocheting, baking, and cooking, as well as reading and traveling with her husband. She particularly treasured the time spent on educational vacations and relaxing at the beaches of Florida and the Carolinas.
Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert J. Martini Jr., and her parents, Edgar and Bonnie Happe. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Joyce Martini.
Her life will be honored on Thursday, July 17, 2025, starting with a visitation at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home, 4619 Delhi Rd. Delhi, from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Wanda Lee Martini will be remembered not only for her contributions to the lives of those she cared for in her professional journey but also for the profound impact she had on her family and friends. Her legacy of nurturing, dedication, and humor will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
