Henry "Pat" Marks, Lieutenant Colonel, USAF (Retired) age 79 of Delhi, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on 5 June 2021. He was born on March 31, 1942 to the late Henry Sr. & Dorothy (Tabler) Marks of Clifton, OH.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth, his loving children, Lynne (Matthew) Smith, Austin, TX; Daniel (Mary) Marks, Cincinnati; Andrew (Elizabeth) Marks, Harrison; Rebecca (David) Keppel, Ashburn, VA; Matthew (Amanda) Marks, San Antonio, TX; his cherished grandchildren Madelyn, Iain, Maleah, Alexandra, Nathaniel, Emma, Joshua and Charles, his dear older brother Donald (Sue) Marks, Destin, FL and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pat is a graduate of St. Xavier High School (‘60) and the University of Cincinnati (‘64).
Pat is a proud 22 year veteran of the Air Force and Air Force Reserves and is a Vietnam Veteran. He served as both a Missile Launch Officer and in the AF Office of Special Investigations during his career. Pat also had second careers with Duro Paper Bag Company and General Electric’s Special Access Project Division, where he proudly worked on the B2 Stealth Bomber project.
Pat’s career in the Air Force played a very important role in his life. He frequently pointed out that the AF taught him the value of discipline, patriotism, loyalty and service to one's community. This was evident through his fellowship with the Knights of Columbus and worship at St. Dominic Parish.
Visitation will be held at Vitt & Stermer Funeral Home, Delhi, on Thursday, June 10, 5-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic Church, Delhi on Friday, June 11, 10am followed by interment with military honors at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Delhi. Memorials can be made to Honor Flight, St. Dominic Education Fund or Hospice of Cincinnati.
