Jerry L. Salamone

Beloved husband of Jan Salamone (nee Esz), loving father of Todd (Catherine) Salamone, Teri (Jeff) Ward and Mindy (Terry) Goff, dear grandfather of Caitlin (Zack), Samuel, Nicholas, Josh, Jake, Zach (Chloe), Olivia, Abby, Nathan and great grandfather of Josie, and Mason, dear brother of Charlene (the late John) Curl. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Sam & Clara (nee Catanzaro) Salamone. Passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. Age 87.
Jerry could be found in gyms, fields and stadiums across the city for years, playing sports in his youth. including being a proud member of Elder’s undefeated 1954 football team. He went on to play & coach softball for a number of years before coaching youth baseball, football and basketball for the Delhi Athletic Association and Our Lady of Victory Athletic Association. He was proud to trade places after coaching by umpiring baseball/softball and refereeing basketball, which he absolutely loved. Jerry went on to become THE biggest fan of his grandchildren after they ventured into multiple sports at the grade school and high school levels.
His biggest attributes, however,  were his loyalty, dedication and dependability with respect to his family and his work. He was employed full-time for The Drackett Company and part time at The Farm reception hall - not for years, but decades! Jerry’s  hard work, dedication and sacrifices provided his three children with a catholic education, which is unquestionably, as a man of faith, his proudest accomplishment.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 9th at Our Lady of Victory Church at 11AM. Memorials may be made to Elder High School or your Charity of Choice. 

In lieu of a visitation, we will celebrate Jerry’s life immediately after mass at St. Simon’s Plagge Hall, 825 Pontius Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233.
