Marian Bier Obituary

On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Marian Bier, loving wife and mother, died peacefully at the age of 95.

Marian was a strong and faithful woman who provided for and raised six children with her loving husband, Walt. Her family was a source of pride and accomplishment for her. Because of her commitment to family tradition and celebrations, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy being together still and will continue to celebrate her life.

Marian was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 1, 1925. She was the first child of Edward J. Bosse and Marguerite Schaefer Bosse.

For 33 years, Marian worked at Macy’s, formerly Shillito’s, and she very much enjoyed working with the public and being with her coworkers.

Every day before work, Marian attended mass, as her faith was the foundation of her values. She was so appreciative of her membership at St. Dominic Parish, including her fond relationships with Frs. Chris and Jim, as well as her role singing in the choir. She also volunteered in other ministries at St. Dominic and at other churches throughout her life.
Marian also sang in the choir at The Christian Village at Mt. Healthy, where she was lovingly cared for in her final years.

She loved to have fun, to share good times and good food, and to laugh. Marian loved to travel and did so mainly with her sister Marjorie, but she also enjoyed traveling with her children individually and taking trips with the entire family.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband, B. Walter “Walt” Bier, her parents, Edward J. Bosse and Marguerite Schaefer Bosse, and her younger brothers George F. Bosse and Edward A. Bosse.
Marian is survived by her son, Greg Bier (Janie), her daughters, Linda Ervin (Jim), Joni Bier, Cindi Parten (Mark), Teri Conner, and Mari Lorenz (Andy), her younger sister, Marjorie Bosse, R.S.M., as well as her grandchildren, Jim, Tom and Mike Bier, Chrissy Harmon, Terace Cobian, Ryan Strode, Mark and Emily Parten, Shawna Braig and Lauren Lorenz, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Marian will have a private visitation and mass at St. Dominic Parish on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. ET View the live-stream at www.stdominicdelhi.org (view Mass online, then live stream (youtube).
