Thomas “Tom” Backs
Age 75, passed away in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Tom was born in Delhi to Joseph and Catherine Backs on September 30, 1946. He retired from GMAC after 37 years. Tom was a lifelong sports fan always rooting for the Bengals, Reds and Bearcats. Throughout his life he was an avid traveler and liked exploring new places, but Delhi was always his home. Tom enjoyed spending time gardening and volunteering, but most of all he loved his family. Beloved husband of Bridget Backs (nee Burke), loving step-father of Kristen Bonafonte and Jennifer (Michael) Rieger. Dear grandfather of Mia, Char, Sarah and Nolan. Brother of William (Nancy) Backs, Kathy (the late William) Castellini and the late John "Jack" Backs. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 10th at 10:00 AM, at St. Dominic Church. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.vittstermeranderson.com
