Virginia "Ginger" Witte Obituary

Virginia R. Witte

Virginia Rose Witte, 76, passed away on February 8, 2024 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Ginger was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 5, 1947. She is survived by her three daughters Gwendelyn (Mike) Volpe, Melissa (Mike) Wegman , and Jennifer (Cor) Hagen; ten grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Armstrong, Colton Volpe,  Michael Wegman, Tanner Volpe, Brody Volpe, Sebastiaan Hagen, Sam (Rylie) Byse, Zachary Wegman, Jack Byse, and Max Byse; four great-grandchildren Maisley Armstrong, Emery Armstrong, Josie Armstrong, and Baby Byse coming in September; and her beloved dogs Sugar, Belle, and Titan.

Ginger was the daughter of Betty Luckey; sister of Frank (Mary) Luckey, aunt of Richard (Kayla) Luckey, and Christopher (Jenni) Luckey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Luckey and niece, Holly Popp.

Ginger was devoted to her community throughout her life, volunteering for a variety of organizations and causes.  She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph College with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and went on to earn her Master's Degree decades later.  She loved being involved with the Girl Scouts of America and was elected and served as the first female Delhi Township trustee. She was a great friend and Grammie to many.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Ginger’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

All are welcome to join us to celebrate Ginger’s life.  Visitation will be held on March 14, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio at Vitt, Stermer, Anderson Funeral Home Delhi from 8:30am-10:30am followed by a funeral mass at St. William Church at 11:00am.  Mass will be live streamed on the St. William Church Cincinnati YouTube channel for those who cannot attend in person.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Working Dogs for Warriors in Ginger’s name. https://www.workingdogsforwarriors.com/
